Medyka ([mɛˈdɨka]; Ukrainian: Медика, romanized: Medyka) is a village in Przemyśl County, Subcarpathian Voivodeship, in south-eastern Poland, on the border with Ukraine. It is the seat of the gmina (administrative district) called Gmina Medyka. It lies approximately 13 kilometres (8 mi) east of Przemyśl and 72 km (45 mi) east of the regional capital Rzeszów.Between 1939 and 1948 the village belonged to the Drohobych Oblast of the Ukrainian SSR. In 2006 the village had a population of approximately 2,800.
Przemyśl County (Polish: powiat przemyski) is a unit of territorial administration and local government (powiat) in Subcarpathian Voivodeship, south-eastern Poland, on the border with Ukraine. It came into being on January 1, 1999, as a result of the Polish local government reforms passed in 1998. Its administrative seat is the city of Przemyśl, although the city is not part of the county (it constitutes a separate city county); there are no towns within the county. Shehyni (Ukrainian: Шегині, Polish: Szeginie) is a village of Mostyska Raion in Lviv Oblast of western Ukraine. Located at the border with Poland,(Контрольно-пропускний пункт Шегині) it is best known as the site of the Medyka-Shehyni (border checkpoint).Shehyni is a land border crossing between Ukraine and Poland on the Ukrainian side, near the village of Shehyni, Mostyska Raion, Lviv Oblast. The crossing is situated on autoroute M 11. Across the border on the Polish side is the village of Medyka, Jaroslaw County, Podkarpackie Voivodeship. The type of crossing is automobile, status - international. The types of transportation for automobile crossings are passenger and freight. The port of entry is part of the Mostyska customs post of Lviv customs.
Mostyska Raion (Ukrainian: Мостиський район) was a raion in Lviv Oblast in western Ukraine. Its administrative center was Mostyska. The raion was abolished on 18 July 2020 as part of the administrative reform of Ukraine, which reduced the number of raions of Lviv Oblast to seven.The last estimate of the raion population was 56,206 (2020 est.)[3].
